Stuck for something to do tonight or tomorrow in Central London? We can heartily recommend a surreal, theatrical night of cocktails served up by premier cognac brand Courvoisier.
The mythical Courvoisier Institute of Grand Cocktails was fictitiously founded over a hundred years ago for the world’s grandest bartenders to perfect the ultimate cocktail. In the spirit of things (if you’ll excuse the pun), the Institute has been resurrected for two nights only in the grand setting of Bloomsbury’s Victoria House.
From the moment you step inside, you’re ushered through a series of rooms, each resplendent with colourful characters to guide you though the brand experience.
In the produce stores you’ll find the five elements of the refreshing Punch, as inspired by Annabel’s bar manager, Mickael Perron; then it’s onto the grand but derelict(e) ballroom to sample a Courvoisier Champagne Cocktail as created by 5 Hertford Street’s bar manager Amanda Humphrey. Finally, you can take a night cap in a New Orleans jazz fuelled apothecary where Rules’ bar manager Chris Lacey serves a classic Courvoisier Sazerac – make sure you ask for Doc.
