This winter guests of Threadneedles – the Square Mile’s original boutique hotel – will experience a whole new meaning to the phrase ‘fast fashion’, with a unique two-wheeled bespoke tailoring service, coming to a doorstep near you…
From November 2014 the hotel will be partnering with Henry Herbert Tailors to offer guests tailoring appointments for suits and shirts made from the finest English and Scottish fabrics, in the Savile Row tradition. On-call both day and night, the tailors will travel exclusively by scooter, bringing the tools of their trade and over 2,000 swatches of fabric.
“We want to be able to offer our discerning guests – many of whom are frequent travellers to London – a highly personal service, much like that which they receive when staying with us.” Explains Lawder Smith, General Manager of Threadneedles. “Whether it be for the creation of a new suit, or just last minute alterations, the partnership offers a new dimension for our guests, and something that draws on our history on Threadneedle Street.”
Following an initial consultation, the bespoke suit will be completed within four to eight weeks and then the finished product will be whizzed straight to guests’ home, or returned to the hotel to be collected on their next visit. Last-minute alterations can also be fixed at any time, day or night. Never be fashionably late again…
