The whizzing buzz of lightsabers set the tone for the Xander Zhou show, who knew Darth Vader was such a minimalist?

Simple voluminous trousers and vests made for a quiet open, shifting dramatically with the glittering onset of sparkly jackets, tees, and shorts. Jackets were adorned with suspicious inflatable mouth valves in primary colours. The collection took a phantom menace turn thanks to leather-sheathed long boards and joker-esque smudged red lipstick. Visible stitching and fastenings on jackets gave the impression of intricate rope work.

It wasn’t until the final act that the dark father made his appearance. A simple black top declared ‘Episode IV – A New Hope’, a prelude to the punchy graphic illustrations that stole the final three looks. A double-Darth motif will no doubt trigger an attack of high street clones, but we’re ready for the sequel regardless.
