Xiao Li has been named Merit Award Winner for Fashion Scout AW14, and will receive a fully sponsored catwalk show and exhibition at Fashion Scout at the Fashion Scout Paris showroom.
The Chinese born, London-based designer – who studied at The London College of Fashion and the Royal College of Art – is characterized by her innovative and sculptural knitwear designs and was previously awarded the Diesel Award at International Talent Support (ITS) and shortlisted for the H&M Design Award.
The Merit Award, a talent initiative run by Fashion Scout – one of the UK’s largest fashion showcases for emerging and established design talent – is worth £25,000 over three seasons and was created to nurture new designer’s on a global level. The judging panel included Hilary Alexander, Jessica Bumpus of Vogue Online and Fashion Scout alumni Georgia Hardinge; past winners have included such established names as Eudon Choi, William Tempest and David Koma.
The 16th edition of Fashion Scout takes place February 14-18 at Freemasons’ Hall, before the designer initiative hits Paris February 27-March 4.
