If the usual English summer festival experience isn’t your thing; by this we mean the mud, wellington boots, camping, and moshing teenagers, here’s one event just for you. Henley Festival (4-8 July), is a 5-day star-studded event that invites you to dig out your best black-tie outfits out the closet and dress up for the UK’s most magical and luxurious festival around by the banks of the stunning Thames River.

Home to the famous yearly regatta and once to ex-Beatles member George Harrison, small riverside village Henley plays host to this laden experience with its charming and exquisite atmosphere. Henley Festival kicks off with a varied and eclectic line up of performances and cabaret acts. Opening night act is Rock and Roll Hall of Fame member and ex-Police band member, Sting, who’s sold over 100 million albums throughout his career and will be singing a collection of hits followed by a spectacular fireworks display.

Other musical acts on the varied line up are X-Factor finalist/occasional TV presenter Olly Murs, opera goddess Katherine Jenkins and reformed boy band Blue. For attendees with an expensive tastes, make sure to to be wined and dined in splendour at the Roux riverside restaurant. Owned by award winning chefs Albert and Michel Roux Jr and -specialising in gourmet French cuisine, you’ll be able to indulge in style and dance the night away to West End musical band Too Darn Hot.

Stand-up comedy acts (including the ginger legend that is Tim Minchin), art exhibitions, and cocktail bars will also be on during throughout the five day experience. Dust off your top hats, polish your shoes, and look your most sophisticated for this glamorous soiree.
