Why Montenegro? Recently labeled the top city to visit in 2016 by Lonely Planet, this breathtaking country is becoming more and more sought after. Where in the world can you swim in the stunningly beautiful bays and a few hours later ski down snow-capped mountains, or go white-water rafting through Europe’s longest canyon? Here. It’s adriatic coastline offers 73km of sandy shores and coves, including Jaz beach on which the Rolling Stones played in 2007 and Madonna the following year.
Now celebrities park their yachts in the luxury marina at Porto Montenegro giving the country the label of a billionaires playground. Montenegro is also a world heritage site, including the walled medieval town of Kotor. The old town’s fortifications rise high up the mountains behind which surround Europe’s biggest inland fiord.
In summer, there are open air festivals and films, carnivals and concerts, set amongst the Venetian squares ancient churches, modern nightclubs – and restaurants serving fresh seafood and local specialists such as the smoked ham and cheese for the Lovcen mountain. Films such as Casino Royale have been filmed in the mountainous landscapes.
Montenegro Apartments is situated in nearby village, Orahovac, a stunning waterfront village that catches the sun all day. The Caspian apartment sleeps up to six, boasts wonderful views over the bay of Kotor and is located a two minute walk from the shore and local beach cafes.
