Style Notes
If there’s ever an excuse to rethink an old accessory, we’re all over it. The idea of being on-trend without actually having to buy any new clothes is the dream (especially when you’re on the wrong side of pay day). Which is precisely why we’re loving the reinvention of the belt this spring. But before you think it’s just a simple question of looping in a belt through your favourite boyfriends, think again. This time around, the belt is less about being sensible and more about making a statement.
How to Wear
While the catwalks were full of belts – belts over party dresses, belts over blazers, belts over anything and everything – we were particularly drawn to House of Holland’s take on the belted cardigan. To elevate the look even further, take a leaf out of Henry’s book and use your belt as a way of breaking up busy prints, whilst also creating a figure-flattering silhouette on what could otherwise be quite a bulky outfit. A practical trend that’s easy, instant and affordable? Rare as hens’ teeth.
