Better known as the luxuroius fashion label, Teatum Jones, the design duo of Catherine Teatum and Rob Jones held their romantic SS13 collection at the gold plated Dorchester Hotel, London.

As models gracefully stepped around the room whilst cocktails were served, the collection could have sat next to Jackie Kennedy’s iconic Pink Chanel suit as inspiration was drawn from the early Cold War years and the exchangeable concept of being a hero and a villain at the same time. Silk-blend Jacquard woven with ice blues, mints, pastels and a light gold create the ‘doublethink fabric’, playing reference to Orwells ‘1984’ whilst traditional craftsmanship ensured elegant sculpted silhouettes and clean sporty lines.

Although the collection referenced past events and drew inspiration from the Sixties, there was a very futuristic feel to the presentation. The platform that the models were presented on appeared as if the ballroom from the Titanic had been rebuilt upon the Starship Enterprise, and embossed silver chrome bikers with epic two-tone copper metallics injected the highest level of futuristic octane. For a label only in their third season it is astonishing how quickly Teatum Jones are establishing themselves as one of the must see shows during the London season. When a label can appear established and luxurious, exclusive and forward thinking in such a short space it time, it makes one wonder what they have in store for the future…
