Ross Barber graduated with an MA in Fashion Footwear from The London College of Fashion earlier this year. Having recently spent time working with Neil Barrett on his AW13 show in Milan, Barber spends his free time experimenting and expanding his own practice by combining traditional shoe making techniques with futuristic, augmented, technological designs.
We spoke to the innovative designer about his feelings towards whether external influences such as the economy, social movements and living in contemporary society affect design. We wanted to find out if living in ‘the age of austerity’ had effected, or is going to effect, the way in which our fashions are being created.
