Classic, relaxed, and breezy summer wear executed to perfection. A collection aimed at modern men desiring to look suave whether they’re trolling by the pool, or going for casual walks in tropical locations. Baartmans and Seigel have created a collection that suits this niche fantastically. In refined neutral colours, with occasional flashes of muted mint and pearls, flattering cuts, and light fabrics we saw glimpses of sun kissed coasts and tropical sunsets.
The 2 hour long presentation held at ‘Circus Cocktail Bar’ opposite the Hospital Club on Day 3 had models standing in a platform whilst a sea of attendees and photographers appreciated and snapped the 14 looks. Island life inspired, more specifically by Cuba’s fishing culture and strange phenomena of ‘Crab Invasions’ which occurs every spring in which the crustaceans take over the island in their quest to find their partner.
It was filled with nostalgia and summer romance vibes. A nappa leather pearly blazer really stood-out whilst a pink patterned T-shirt, deconstructed shirts and jackets, and a sparkling vest mixed with a variation of loose jersey trousers, and tailored sweatpants gave the collection a young fresh feel. Oversized silk scarves, visors, big leather bags, and retro sunglasses adorned most outfits elegantly.
Design duo Wouter Baartman and Amber Siegel continue to prove why their work is garnering so much praise by creating an incredibly masculine, innovative, and casual beach SS13 collection.
