Here at PHOENIX we like couture frocks, horses, and men in uniform. So naturally, we also like Fashion for the Brave.

Fashion for the Brave is a high profile fundraising gala for the Household Cavalry Operational Casualties Fund and the The British Forces Foundation, who provide financial support to injured soldiers; and morale boosting entertainment respectively.

The photocall at the Hyde Park Barracks featured beauties Jade Parfitt, Jasmine Guinness and Lyza Onysko, accompanied by Lance Corporal of Horse Tate and his regimental charger George. The models were then joined by Trooper Morrison, who has recently returned from a tour of Afghanistan with D Squadron, and Corporal of Horse Gaz Cowan – a veteran of 12 years who has served in Bosnia and in two tours of Afghanistan.

Jade Parfitt wore a bespoke red crinoline dress with a Union Jack corset and antique gold buttons by PHOENIX favourite Corrie Nielsen, winner of the coveted Fashion Fringe award in 2010. Nielsen says “It’s an absolute honour to have been selected by Hilary Alexander to make make the Union Jack dress for Fashion for the Brave. The piece carries my trademark sculptural flair and looked amazing accompanied by diamonds from Boodles.”  The shoes for the launch were provided by luxury label Gina.

The fundraising event will take place on September 20th at the Dorchester, where as part of the charity auction the Corrie Nielsen dress will be offered up to the highest bidder. Tables are priced at £3,500 for 10 guests or £500 per guest.
